I talked few times about her in this blog, she created it, she is the boss, she is my wonderful wife, ladies and gentlemen ... Monica, she even broth me at my first Buckeye game. Buddy ... Awesome, I never cared that much, not even about soccer when I was in Italy, but in that stadium there was a great energy (not same thing than TV) ... and we don't have that kind of food !

The Game

The game ... The most important thing in the life for  Ohio residents ... huge stadium, full of people, the other team ?? They didn't even try to get to the stadium, thanks to the players for coming ! (in soccer stadium is split in half to welcome both teams fans). Everything shuts down, the only things working are: the stadium and the TV. Don't try to talk to anybody, they will think that you are crazy, get your food and beer if you can and watch the game, you don't like it ? Go to sleep ...

Ciccio and Taylor Swift Sitting in a Tree...

OMG! Just heard Ciccio singing the lyrics of Taylor Swift's new song!

"you're on the phone with your girlfriend, she's upset
She's going off about something that you said
'Cause she doesn't get your humor like I do"

it wasn't even the chorus, he knows all the words!!!
so funny hearing his italian accent mimic a teenybopper's voice. at least it wasn't Miley Cyrus:)

Halloween Costume Contest: DOGGIE STYLE

I cannot believe it, I never saw anything like this before, I realized  when I moved to NYC that people love their dogs and even more in Ohio and they try to make them participate in all the events in their life  ... but ... ... come on people ...  I will never let you dress my dog like that ... MONICA ... CAPITO ...  (even if they looked so happy, having so much fun)

A FEW FIRSTS FOR CICCIO

 First Drive Thru Bank

-It was kind of a Jetsons/futuristic moment for him. In Italy, going to the bank is an all day process. When we were in Trani, Italy this summer, we waited one hour in line (even though there were only 5 people in front of us) just to deposit a check. When we finally got to the teller, Ciccio asks to speak with the manager, but he was on a coffee break. So the idea of a drive thru bank, a concept designed to make things convenient for the customer, was definitely foreign to Ciccio.

PICTIONARY

-Board games are anything but boring when a foreigner is participating! It was a bit challenging because of all the slang terms, but he did great for his first time playing!

Meet Ciccio

This blog was created to document Ciccio's transition from Italy to Columbus, Ohio. Ciccio is my loud, quick-tempered, passion-filled, fun-loving, straight-from-the-boat, Italian husband. We met in NYC while he was working as a Pizza Chef and I was waitressing to supplement my journalism career. Ciccio was recruited from Trani, Italy to bring his pizza passion to New Yorkers. Fast forward three years and we're married residents of Central Ohio. Ciccio picked up English fairly well while in Manhattan, but NYC culture hardly represents the rest of America.

We started this blog as part entertainment/ part coping method. Our joke is that Ciccio is my first child because everyday brings endless questions like "what is Worcestershire sauce?" Or "what do you mean we have to pay taxes?" Like rearing a child, everyday brings a NEW set of challenges and joys! It's not easy being an foreigner in America, so we hope to bring laughter to those that have experienced it and a new appreciation for those who have not.

Addio,

Monica

P.S- Half of the posts will be written by Ciccio so please forgive any typos of terseness!
